Why MagicPill Labs exists
MagicPill Labs is an AI-native software development studio founded in July 2025 and based in Ridgefield, Washington, serving the Portland–Vancouver metro and remote clients across the United States. It runs a six-phase engagement — intro call, AI opportunity audit, solution scoping, build, managed operations, handoff — with fixed-fee and outcome-based pricing. Audits start at $250.
I started MagicPill Labs because I believe AGI, and possibly ASI, is on the horizon. That is an enormous opportunity, and most businesses are not positioned to take it. It is also a real risk: if a handful of firms get far enough ahead, they won’t just out-compete everyone else. They will out-automate them.
The work I care about (the building, the training, the research) is figuring out what stays valuable in that world, and helping firms build it now so they thrive rather than survive. Some will read that as ethical marketing. Fair enough. But I already see the imbalance forming: too many small and mid-sized businesses are falling behind what is possible today, let alone what is coming.

Robby Boney is the founder and CEO of MagicPill Labs. He is a software engineer and cloud architect with a background in geospatial data engineering and peer-reviewed research, and he leads delivery on every engagement the studio takes on. He founded MagicPill Labs in July 2025 in Ridgefield, Washington.
